PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which is capable of conducting an interpolation processing to adequately enhanceable edge parts of an image. SOLUTION: This image processor has an interpolation coefficient generating means 12 that receives a set high resolution rate and generates an interpolation coefficient, in response to the received high resolution rate and a tilt information extract means 104 that extracts tilt information between pixels in a received low resolution image. A correction coefficient generated by the interpolation coefficient generating means 102 and the tilt information extracted by the tilt information extract means 104 are given to a correction means 106, which applies a prescribed arithmetic processing to the interpolation coefficient, based on the detected tilt information to correct the correction coefficient. In this correction, the interpolation coefficients applied to pixels of an edge first half are corrected to be larger and the interpolation coefficients applied to pixels of an edge latter half are corrected to be smaller.
