Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage tank in which its capacity can be enlarged without the upper limit, the thickness of required steel plates can be reduced greatly, and which can be worked with a small working machine. SOLUTION: A storage tank is provided with a plurality of vertical partitions 12 with through-holes and a plurality of side plates 14 with its both ends connected with horizontal direction ends 13 of adjoining partitions. The side plates 14 are formed into the arcuate shape having the radius(r) with its center O' inside and formed into the symmetrical shape linear to the partition wall 12. The hoop stress applied to the side plates 14 can be set sufficiently small by setting the radius(r) small sufficiently. Also as the side plates are formed into the shape symmetrical linearly to the partitions, respective component forces crossing orthogonally the partitions with hoop force are balanced one another at the connecting points, and only the interfacial tension acts on the partition wall. |
