Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an alkaline storage battery capable of implementing a stable large current discharge characteristics from the initial stage of operation without sacrificing a high capacitance in a comparatively short time by improving an initial activation treating process. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises a step of fabricating an electrode group 5 by insulating a positive electrode 2 from a negative electrode 4 containing a hydrogen storage alloy by means of a separator 3 interposed therebetween, and accomodating the fabricated electrode group 5 in a bottomed cylindrical receptacle together with an alkaline electrolyte in a sealed manner, to thereby assemble a cell unit, a step of at least twice repeating operation of heating the cell unit to 60-120 deg.C under the condition that is changed and of cooling the same to the temperature lower than the heated temperature by 30 deg.C or more. |
