Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody an apparatus for producing a magnetic recording medium which does not give rise to yielding to heat and wrinkling in spite of raising of a deposition rate with a protective film treating apparatus for a metallic thin film type magnetic tape. SOLUTION: A supporting roll 4 is divided to plural arcuate surfaces along its rotating direction. At the time of sticking the magnetic recording medium 3 to the supporting roll 4, the sticking voltage to be applied on the supporting roll 4 is partially changed and the voltages suitable for the respective regions are applied thereon. The yielding to heat and the wrinkling do not arise any more even if the deposition rate is increased if the sticking is executed in the manner described above.
