PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove toner dirt stuck on the end part of a belt and prevent a hand at jam disposal and the like from dirtying by bringing a cleaning blade in contact with a transcription carrying belt in the counter direction in the image territory width, and in the trailing direction on this side of the device outside the image territory. SOLUTION: A cleaning unit cleaning the surface of a transcription carrying belt is constituted of a cleaning blade 16A having elasticity. This cleaning blade 16A is contacted with the transcription carrying belt so as to be in the counter direction in the image territory width, and in the trailing direction on this side of the device outside the image territory. Accordingly, the cleaning unit is constituted by providing a counter blade 16A-1 contacting with the transcription carrying belt in the counter direction in the image territory width, and a trailing blade 16A-2 contacting with the transcription carrying belt in the trailing direction on this side of the device outside the image territory, on the same holder 21.
