TELEPHONE SET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone set that gives no effect on a speech and by which the user does not feel bored. SOLUTION: A telephone set has a display section 13, an entry means 12, a storage means 11 and a control means (control circuit 10). A control section 10 detects that the entry means 12 is not operated for a prescribed time and allow a display section 13 to display intermittently a display independently of the telephone operations, e.g. pattern information selected among plural pattern information sets stored in a storage means 11. Since the pattern information is selected at random, unexpected performance is attained, and since the pattern is moved intermittently, it is not only interesting but also providing recognition of an operating state. In this case, display of information sets D1-D4 relating to a speech is preferably stopped, and the pattern is displayed in the standby state to avoid effect on a speech. The intermittent display of the pattern information is conducted preferably almost for the same period as the period of searching of the speech zone.
