Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a drive structure to reduce failures by equipping the machine with a drive motor joined to the bottom part of a bearing housing to drive a drive shaft joined to the inside of the bearing housing to rotate a hub, an insulator, and a washing tub. SOLUTION: This washing machine comprises a bearing housing 161 joined to almost central under side of an outer washing tub 171, a hub 131 joined to the inside thereof, and a drive motor joined to the bottom part of the bearing housing 161 to drive a drive shaft 141 to rotate an insulator 121 and a washing tub 102. An upper step part 164 to support an upper bearing 201 is further formed to make the bearing housing 161 disperse load on the drive shaft 141. To prevent penetration of washing water, an outer seal 183 is tightly attached to the inside periphery face of the upper joined part 167 of the bearing housing 161 and a first seal member tightly attached to an inside seal 182 formed on the upper side outer periphery face of the drive shaft 141 are arranged.
