ROOT CUTTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root cutter for cutting the roots of seedlings that can suitably cut the roots growing out of a seedling-growing container into a nursery bed without damage to the growing container with the cutting blade. SOLUTION: After the completion of seedling-growing step where a plurality of seedling-growing containers B are arranged on a nursery bed A in plural rows with a prescribed interval between individual rows and seedlings are grown in individual containers, a cutting blade 1 with a V-shape in the plane view that acts on two of the left and the right rows of the containers B is forcibly allowed to move so that it may be introduced from the side of its central projection 1A into a space between two left and right seedling containers B and the nursery bed A to cut the roots growing from the containers extending into the nursery bed A. In this case, a blade edge a1 on the side of the projection 1A is allowed to be positioned at a level lower than a blade edges a2 on the side of both of left and right edges 1B.
