Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic drive unit for a construction machine in which composite operation of an attachment with any arm member of three arm members can be realized. SOLUTION: A flow control valve 6 to control a first boom cylinder 1, an arm flow control valve 9 tandem-connected to this to control an arm cylinder, and a second boom flow control valve 8 connected downstream of it to control a second boom cylinder 3 are disposed on the side of a first pump 13, and another arm flow control valve 10 to control the arm cylinder 3, a flow control valve 7 to control the first boom cylinder 1, and a spare flow control valve 12 to control an actuator 5 to drive an attachment are connected in parallel on the side of a second pump 14. In addition, a shuttle valve 20 is provided to take out pilot pressure to change the second boom flow control valve 8 for changing the arm flow control valve 9 to enable supply of hydraulic oil of the first pump 13 to the second boom flow control valve 8.
