Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion joint for a pipe designed so as to facilitate insertion of a pipe end. SOLUTION: This insertion joint is provided with a socket main body 2, support device for connecting a pipe end 3, 4 to the socket main body 2, and a packing ring 38 arranged between an inner surface of the socket main body 2 and the pipe end 3, 4. The socket main body 2 has a free space 30 for the packing ring 38, the packing ring 38, before the pipe end 3, 4 is inserted in an insertion direction 28, is arranged in this side of the free space 30, in the case of inserting the pipe end 3, 4, to be moved in an axial direction till relaxing so that an internal diameter thereof is almost equal to an external diameter 40 of the pipe end 3, 4 in the free space 30. After the pipe end 3, 4 is inserted, the packing ring 38 is brought into seal contact, in one hand, with a diametric direction spread part 29 of a packing edge part 32 and/or socket main body 2, in the other hand, with an outer surface of the pipe end 3, 4.
