Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a crystalline organic indium compound, such as trimethyl indium, in an easy, safe and efficient way. SOLUTION: This method comprises reacting an indium halide with an organic magnesium halogenide in ether solvent to produce an organic indium compound expressed by the formula, wherein, a hydrocarbon solvent having a boiling point equal to or less than that of the reaction product, organic indium, then, an indium halide are added to and reacted with ether suspension of an organic magnesium halogenide. In the formula, R is selected from a lower alkyl, phenyl, an alkylsubstituted phenyl, a cyclopentadienyl or an alkyl- substituted cyclopentadienyl. The three R may be the same or different from one another. M represents indium.
