ORAL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an oral composition having high recalcination activities of a tooth and anticariogenic activities by including a specific sugar-alcohol and regulating the pH so as to be within a specific region. SOLUTION: This oral composition contains one or more kinds of sugar- alcohols selected from xylitol, mannitol, galactitol and inositol, and the pH thereof is regulated so as to be >=8, preferably 8.5-9.5. Bicarbonate of soda is preferably used for regulating the pH so as to be the objective value. Most preferably, the sugar alcohol is xylitol, and the formulating amount of the sugar alcohol is 1-60 wt.%. A compound capable of supplying chloride ion is preferably formulated with the oral composition. The compound for supplying the chloride ion is preferably potassium chloride and sodium chloride. The formulating amount thereof is 0.001-20 wt.% in terms of chloride ion.
