ALKALINE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an external short circuit, and prevent accidents in the case of the reverse loading of an alkaline battery. SOLUTION: A power generation element is filled in a positive electrode can, a positive electrode can opening is calked via a resin-made packing so that a metal bottom as negative electrode terminal, is fixed to a sealing portion so as to form an alkaline battery. A resin ring 9 of L-shaped in a cross section or a circular resin ring having a step is mounted on the outer periphery of a metal bottom 8, and the same is calked so as to seal so that the lower portion of the resin ring 9 is sandwiched between the resin packing 6 and the metal bottom 8. Since these resins are flexible and cover the side face and one part of the flat portion of the metal bottom 8, the same are effective as external short circuit countermeasures and reverse loading countermeasures. Since the lower portion of the resin is fixed, it is not removed by impacts.
