PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect an image reader to the main body of computer, without the use of external cable by providing a bay for peripheral equipment incorporation at one part of the main body of computer and mounting the image reader at this bay. SOLUTION: At one part of a main body 1 of computer, plural bays 2a, 2b and 2c for peripheral equipment incorporation are provided, and a miniaturized image reader 3 is mounted at the idle bay 2c among these bays 2a, 2b and 2c. Then, a connector for connection at the rear end of that image reader 3 is connected to the internal connector of the main body 1 of computer. Thus, since no external cable is required for connecting the image reader 3 and the image reader 3 is built in the main body 1 of the computer, and no space is required for installation outside the main body 1 of computer, so that miniaturization can be attained.
