Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recorder for printing an image receiving surface for forming an image of high quality by suppressing the alteration of a constitution of the recorder of a lower cost and an ink ribbon for the recorder. SOLUTION: An ink phase coated with ink for forming an image receiving surface for not transmitting light is formed by partitioning it by a transparent phase at each predetermined screen size, and an end detecting mark 3 for not transmitting the light is provided in the next transparent phase 5 of a final screen 48 of the ink phase to constitute the ink ribbon. Meanwhile, first and second sensors S3, S4 for detecting the screen and end detecting mark are provided in the thermal transfer recorder.
