Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a masterbatch exhibiting particularly excellent dispersibility and markedly improved in dispersibility in inks, coating materials and resins by mixing a polyethylene having a specified density and a specified molecular weight with a pigment. SOLUTION: A polyethylene having a density of 0.900 g/cm or below and a molecular weight of 10,000 or above is used. For example, it is desirably a ultralow-density polyethylene synthesized by using a metallocene catalyst, namely a polyethylene having long-chain branches in the main chain. It is also possible to add at most 20 wt.%, based on the entire masterbatch, another resin or wax. The mixing ratio of the resin to the pigment is desirably such that at least 30 wt.%, polyethylene is present, and 5-70 wt.% pigment is present. The masterbatch can be used in the form of, for example, pellets or plates. The masterbatch can be easily dissolved in inks or coating materials at very low temperatures.
