PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and securely remove play in the axial direction of the knee shaft of an artificial leg by giving attention to the mechanical play between first and second bearing members supporting either end of the knee shaft and a brake block placed in the middle of the bearing members. SOLUTION: A plural number of ring-shaped spacer members 91 and 92 are inserted between a brake block 52 and bearing members 71, 72 respectively, and the spacer members are made to slide easily on their contact surface 912 with each other. In order to make the spacer members 91 and 92 more smoothly slide, the spacer members may be preferably made of a resin material. Specifically, at least one spacer member having the contact surface should be made of resin with low friction such as oil-including resin or phenolic resin, etc.
