Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polypeptide, comprising a nucleic acid having a high identity to a base sequence encoding an rnc polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence and useful for the screening of the antibiotic activity, treatment, diagnosis of the like of infectious diseases. SOLUTION: This new isolated polynucleotide comprises a poilynucleotide having at least 70% identity to a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide containing an amino acid sequence represented by the formula, a polynucleotide having at least 70% identity to the same mature polypeptide as that expressed by an rnc gene contained in a deposited strain Streptococcus pneumoniae, a polynucleotide or the like encoding a polypeptide containing an amino acid sequence having at least 70% identity to the amino acid sequence represented by the formula. The polynucleotide is obtained by screening a chromosomal DNA library derived from Streptococcus pneumoniae 0100993 using an rnc partial gene as a probe.
