Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk unit having increased recording density, in which the sticking between a slider and magnetic disk is prevented by a lubricant applied on the magnetic disk hardly stick to the slider and the floating height of the slider is reduced, and also an external storage device using this magnetic disk unit. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk unit is provided with the magnetic disk with a lubricant layer formed on the surface, a magnetic head for recording/ reproducing data for the magnetic disk, and the slider confronted with the magnetic disk while mounting the magnetic head. In this magnetic disk unit, a rail surface formed on the slider 3 and confronted with the magnetic disk, and a bleed surface 8 formed as the recessed part with the level difference from the rail surface and provided with the ruggedness having the height difference smaller than the level difference on the surface, are furnished.
