MATERIAL FOR WIND INSTRUMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the corrosion resistance of a material for wind instruments and to impart excellent brazability thereto, by incorporating a specified amt. of Pt into the material for wind instruments. SOLUTION: Ag having 99.995% purity is incorporated with Pt having 99.995% purity by 0.5 to 10%, preferably 1 to 3% to compose material for wind instruments. In the case the content of Pt is regulated to 1 to 3% in this material for wind instruments, the embrittlemtn of material is reduced. Furthermore, the brazed part of the material is small in discoloration and can beautifully be finished without requiring post stages such as acid treatment. Furthermore, the material for wind instruments has brightness characteristics of pure Ag, good in brazability and grindability and has suitable hardness and massive feeling.
