Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging member easily manufactured and capable of providing stable images by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A charging member includes a conductive elastic layer 2 provided on a conductive support shaft 1. The conductive elastic layer 2 is composed of a rubber material and polyacrylic nitrile grains 3 contained therein. By containing the polyacrylic nitrile grains 3 in the rubber material, the mold releasing property of a charging roller is improved and toner sticking and sticking to a photosensitive body are prevented. Thus, abnormal images such as while lines are eliminated.
