CONTROL METHOD FOR WAVE TRANSMISSION FROM SPHERICAL ARRAY AND SPHERICAL-ARRAY WAVE TRANSMITTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a control method in which composite spherical sound waves are transmitted from a spherical-array wave transmitter at a desired wave transmission beam width and with wave transmission directivity as a wave- transmission central direction. SOLUTION: In a delay-amount computing circuit 707, the three-dimensional position coordinates 711 of every wave-transmitting element from a coordinate memory 708 are referred to, and a delay amount 712 with reference to a transmitting signal to every wave-transmitting element is computed on the basis of a virtual sphere radius which is set from the outside in order to control a wave-transmitting operation and on the basis of a relative horizontal/vertical direction deviation angle in the wave-transmitting central direction with reference to a phasing-range central direction. As a result, composite spherical sound waves can be transmitted toward a desired wave-transmitting central direction from a wave-transmitting element group 706.
