USE OF ADHESIVE CONTAINING SILANE-GRAFTED SUFFICIENTLY AMORPHOUS POLY-ALPHA-OLEFIN FOR PRODUCING ADHESION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive which dispenses with the use of an expensive adhesive, exhibits high cohesive power and thermal stability, and has no defect about cost or labor by incorporating a specific silane to be grafted and a poly-α- olefin into the same. SOLUTION: This adhesive contains a sufficiently amorphous poly-α-olefin which may be a homopolymer or a coplymer [e.g. atactic polypropylene(APP), atactic polybutene-(1), or a homo-, co-, or terpolymer formed from 0-95wt.% 4-10C α-olefin, 5-100wt.% propene, and 0-20wt.% ethene], 0.1-10wt.% (based on the poly-α-olefin) silane to be grafted which has at least one olefinic double bond and one to three directly Si-bonded alkoxy groups [e.g. vinyltrimethoxysilane(VTMO)], and, if necessary, 0.1-50wt.% adhesive resin, 0.1-50wt.% wax, other polymers, a plasticizer, etc.
