Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline dry cell, a dry cell made free of mercury and lead, having excellent properties and whose electric current value scarcely decreases and whose discharge curve scarcely fluctuates after shock without requiring the zinc content in a gel anode. SOLUTION: In an alkaline dry cell for which a gel anode containing a zinc alloy free of mercury and lead in a gelled electrolytic liquid, the weight ratio of zinc to an electrolytic liquid is set to be 1.75-1.90 and two types of gelling agents one of which is soluble in an electrolytic liquid as a gelling agent and the other of which swells by absorbing the electrolytic liquid are used and the weight ratio of the former to the latter is set to be 0.9-2.5 and the total weight of the gelling agents to the electrolytic liquid weight is within a range of 1.29-1.49%.
