FLASHING DISCHARGE LAMP DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flashing discharge lamp device capable of confirming that a capacitor of a lighting device has already released electrical energy to maintain a safe working condition when an opening/closing cover of a casing for accommodating a flashing discharge lamp is opened. SOLUTION: This device comprises flashing discharge lamps 11 and 12, a casing 15 having an opening/closing cover 16 to accommodate the flashing discharge lamps 11 and 12, a capacitor 21 and a discharge circuit 23 and is provided with a lighting device 20 to lighten the flashing discharge lamps 11 and 12 by using electrical energy released from the capacitor 21. In this case, a short-circuit member 30 is provided in the casing 15 so as to shift from a non-short-circuit position to a short-circuit position interlocking with opening operation of the cover 16, to short-circuit a positive and negative side electrical path for the flashing discharge lamps 11 and 12. Since the short-circuit member 30 is positioned at the short-circuit position when the cover 16 is opened, it is confirmed that the discharge circuit 23 has electrical energy from the capacitor 21.
