Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a stable flame by supplying air with the concentration of oxygen thereof exceeding that of atmospheric air to a pulverized coal mixed gas pertaining to a coal fired burner containing highly volatile components and high moisture applied for a combustion furnace for steam generation. SOLUTION: A fresh air outer cylinder 34 is provided on the perimeter of a pulverized coal nozzle 05, a fresh air chamber 31 is formed, a plurality of fresh air feeding nozzles 35 are provided on the perimeter of a chamber tip part thereof and a fresh air feed port 32 is provided. A pulverized coal mixed gas 20 is supplied into a furnace from a pulverized coal mixed gas path 23 in the nozzle 05, fresh air 33 is blown into the external surface side of the mixed gas 20 from the air chamber 31 and the air feeding port 32 to form a high concentration oxygen layer on the surface thereof. Therefore, firstly, the high concentration oxygen layer is ignited in a furnace to burn volatile components. Subsequently, air 16 for combustion and the mixed gas 20 are diffusively mixed to stabilize a flame.
