Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emulsion type water repellent composition which is excellent in mechanical stability, drying properties and storage stability and is useful for paper, fiber and the like by emulsifying a specific wax in the presence of an anionic emulsifier, a nonionic emulsifier and a specific higher alcohol in water. SOLUTION: (A) A wax melting at 40-70 deg.C and containing 20-(30wt.% of' iso ¥ paraffin is emulsified in water in the presence of' (B) an anionic emulsifier, for example, sodium polyoxyethylene stearyl ether sulfate, (C) a nonionic emulsifier such as polyoxyethylene stearyl ether and (D) a higher alcohol of 16 or more carbon atoms, for example, stearyl alcohol or behenyl alcohol. In a preferred embodiment, components B, C and D are formulated by 0.1-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of component A, respectively. |
