Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phosphorus-modified epoxy resin simply at a low cost by reacting a polyepoxide compound with a carboxylic phosphinic or phosphonic acid. SOLUTION: A soluble and/or fusible phosphorus-modified epoxy resin is obtained by reacting a polyepoxide compound having at least two epoxide groups in the molecule with a carboxylic phosphinic or phosphonic acid. The phosphinic and phosphonic acids used are represented by formulas I and II (wherein R is a 1-18C linear or branched alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, an alkylaryl or hydrogen; R' is a 1-18C linear or branched alkylene, a cycloalkylene, an arylene or an alkylarylene). It is desirably exemplified by 2- carboxyethanemethanephosphinic acid, monomethyl-2-carboxyethanephosphonate. It is desirable that the reaction is carried out at 20-150 deg.C in an aprotic polar solvent. |
