DOCUMENT PREPARING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved document preparing device capable of simply setting a character range to be edited. SOLUTION: A soft keyboard is provided with a button 1 for specifying a start point and a button 2 for specifying an end point and the document editing device is provided with a start/end point processing part for relating the start point specification button 1 to a character required as a start point in a character string so as to set up the character as the start point of an edition range and relating the end point specification button 2 to a character required as an end point in the character string so as to set the character as the end point of the edition range. Thus the range can be set up by a user only by successively tapping the character required as the start point, the button 1, the character required as the end point, and the button 2.
