Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane suitable for synthesizing macromonomers from a crude mixture of hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane by using a conventional distillation equipment. SOLUTION: This distillation of a crude mixture of hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane and higher cyclopolysiloxane to obtain hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane comprises steps of: (I) mixing the crude mixture with an auxiliary solvent having a boiling point of 125-150 deg.C, and (II) distilling the mixture obtained by the step (I) by using equipment comprising a reboiler, fractional column and condenser to separate hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane from higher cyclopolysiloxane, thus, substantially preventing precipitation of solid hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane in the condenser.
