Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous grinding solution for superfinishing which is effective in preventing grindstone clogging and harmless to the human body. SOLUTION: An inner ring 18 is rotated by rotating a shaft 14, while a grindstone 40 comprising fine abrasive particles is rocked while being kept in contact with the rotating surface of the ring 18. An aqueous grinding solution containing an amine salt of a fatty acid is supplied from a tube 84. The salt in the grinding fluid has been ionized into RCOO and NH2 . The RCOO forms a covering layer on the rotating surface of the ring 18. As a result, lubricity is improved and the generation of a gel comprising polynuclear complexes is prevented to thereby prevent the grindstone 40 from being clogged. Furthermore, since the grinding fluid contains no inorganic salts, it is harmless to the human body.
