Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an arylcarbonate suitable for production of polycarbonates at a high yield while suppressed formation of by-products by a reaction of an aromatic hydroxy compound with phosgene in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst under specific conditions. SOLUTION: This production of an arylcarbonate comprises introducing an aromatic hydroxy compound, such as a phenol, and phosgene into a reactor V that is packed with a heterogeneous catalyst and heated to 180-500 deg.C, and then leading the reaction products into a waste gas reactor VII for a subsequent reaction, and to the second reactor VIII, through which a diarylcarbonate is formed by the reaction of the aromatic hydroxy compound present or formed in the reactor V, degassing the products leaving the second reactor VIII, introducing the separated waste gas together with the aromatic hydroxy compound into the waste gas reactor VII, the products from the second reactor VIII into a distillation towers X to XIII, the bottom product of the distillation tower X into the second tower XI to remove the low-boiling point products as the tower top product, and thus obtained diarylcarbonate into the third tower XIII to obtain pure diarylcarbonate as a tower top product, sending the bottom product to a fourth tower XIII, and taking the high-boiling point product out of the bottom of the tower XIII, thus continuously obtaining diarylcarbonate.
