Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new transformant containing a recombinant plasmid containing a gene coding for a functional polypeptide expressed by a specific amino acid sequence and having a heparin-bonding activity of fibronectin and useful e.g. for the production of a functional polypeptide. SOLUTION: This new polypeptide is a transformant transformed by a recombinant plasmid containing a gene coding for a functional polypeptide expressed by an amino acid sequence of the formula and having a heparin- bonding activity of fibronectin. It plays an important role in the adhesion, extension and transfer of fibroblast cell, endothelial cell, a certain kind of cancer cell, etc., and is useful e.g. for the production of a functional polypeptide useful as a drug, etc., contributing to the restoration of the tissue of the wound part and the maintenance of homeostasis by bonding to both a cell and an extracellular matrix. The transformant can be produced by integrating a cDNA of a heparin-bonding domain of fibronectin to a vector and inserting the obtained recombinant expression vector into a host cell.
