Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the light source module at a low cost with a high coupling efficiency, and high reliability by making a near field pattern of a light emitted from the optical element in matching with a near field pattern of an elliptic core optical fiber of plane of polarization preservation type having a refractive index distribution of non-axial symmetry. SOLUTION: An active area is made narrow by forming a proton implanting region 3 around an active layer 13 of a surface emitting element 1. An upper electrode 5 is formed on the proton implanting region 3 and an upper reflecting layer 14. An elliptic window 2 slightly smaller than the diameter of the active area made narrow is provided in the upper electrode 5 so as to almost make a near field pattern of a light emitted from the window 2 in matching with a near field pattern of an elliptic core optical fiber of plane of polarization preservation type coupled with the surface emitting element 1. |
