SOLUTION: The recording track width WW corresponds to the length of a magnetic gap G formed between an upper core 34 and a lower core 22/an intermediate core 24. Even when the position or width of the upper core 34 slightly changes, the recording track width WW shows little changes. The reproduction track width WR of the MR head 52 corresponds to span formed by an MR layered film 44 interposed between electrodes 46. Even if the position or width of the MR layered film 44 changes when being produced, the reproduction track width WR shows little changes. The recording track width WW and the reproduction track width WR are defined by a width of a flat portion at the top of a raised portion 12. |
