MULTIMEDIA DATA DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the multimedia data distribution system in which servers storing medium data are distributed, medium data processing requiring a high CPU load is distributed, a network requiring a high traffic load is avoided and high speed data distribution is attained. SOLUTION: Each video server 14 placed at points 131 -13n stores moving image data and application(AP) servers 121 , 122 store other data than the moving image data. A management server 11 gives an instruction to the application(AP) servers 121 , 122 to send media data on request in response to a data request from a client 15. In the case that the media data are moving image data, the application(AP) servers 121 , 122 check a state of traffic. When the traffic is usual, the application(AP) servers 121 , 12.2 allow the video server 14 at the same point of the points 131 -13n as the client 15 of the request source to send the moving image data to the client 15 and transfers the moving image distribution processing to the video server 14 of the other point among the points 131 -13n when the traffic is in congestion.
