Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the aging stability of a phosphoric acid catalyst under hydrothermal conditions by incorporating a specified amt. of TiO2 or ZrO2 into the carrier of the catalyst contg. a specified amt. of H3 PO4 . SOLUTION: This phosphoric acid catalyst contains H3 PO4 as an active component by 1-50wt.% of the total amt. on the molded inorg. carrier contg. TiO2 or ZrO2 by at least 90wt.% of the total amt. of the pure carrier. The sizes of the constituent molded bodies of this catalyst are in the range of about 1-10mm and molded bodies each having about 2-5mm size are advantageously used. This catalyst is used for hydration of olefin, e.g. hydration of ethylene for producing ethanol and diethyl ether and hydration of propylene for producing isopropanol. |
