PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the head part of a user from being exposed by means of electromagnetic wave from an antenna by arranging an electromagnetic wave shielding plate which is elevated in synchronization with an antenna so as to surround an antenna surface at the head part side of the user. SOLUTION: The subject portable telephone is provided with an exterior case 1 incorporating transmitting/receiving mechanism and the antenna 2 which is arranged in the exterior case 1 so as to be freely containing/drawing possible. Then, the electromagnetic wave shielding plate 4 which is elevated in synchronization with the movement of the antenna 2 is arranged by surrounding the antenna surface at the head part side of the user. Besides, the electromagnetic shield plate 4 and a front part 1c are formed by a base material consisting of a magnetic member with a max. magnetical permeability being more than 10,000 and are formed by a planar material having at least one kind of thermally sprayed layer selected from a group of Al, Cu, Si, Au, Ag and Pt, which is formed at least one surface of the substrate.
