Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device with glass substrates, having low density, about 2.75g/cm or less, and small heat contraction, even if heat- treated at a temperature of 570 deg.C or more. SOLUTION: A device has a pair of glass substrates, electrodes arranged inside of the glass substrates and phosphors arranged in the glass substrates for emitting light by the discharge of the electrodes. In this case, the glass substrate is made of SiO2 -Al2 O3 -RO based glass containing 50wt.% or more SiO2 , 3.5wt.% or more Al2 O3 , less than 15wt.% MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO and less than 2wt.% BaO to have a density of 2.75g/cm or less.
