IC MEMORY CARD ADAPTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read an IC memory card by using a normal optical disk reproducing device by reading the change of the reflectance of an optical modulation element by the optical head of the normal optical disk reproducing device. SOLUTION: When a cartridge 112 is inserted to a disk reproducing device, the optical head 124 enters a standby state for which only a focus is locked after initialization. When a read command is supplied from a host computer 121 to a controller 120, the optical head 124 obtains the address of the data and starts moving in an outer peripheral direction for instance. Upon reaching a target track, the optical head 124 starts read. At this point, the optical head reads the change signals of the reflectance supplied by the optical modulation element 103. Then, signals for which light reflected by a reflection plate 104 and returned is detected in a photoelectric conversion element 117 through a lens 116 and an anti-transmissive mirror 115 are demodulated in a demodulation circuit 119 and then, sent to the host computer 121.
