Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polymer bearing a plurality of fluorine atoms on the 1st carbon atom and also bearing a specific structural unit at least on the surface. SOLUTION: This polymer is obtained by polymerization, using a radical, anion or cation (e.g. ultraviolet radiation, plasma, heat) as initiator, of an olefinic unsaturated monomer bearing two or three fluorine atoms and one hydroxyl group on vicinally related carbon atoms, respectively, for example, 2-(trifluoromethyl)-3-buten-2-ol formed by Grignard reaction between 1,1,1- trifluoroacetone and vinylmagnesium bromide or allylmagnesium bromide.
