Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure a buried position from the ground surface, by calculating a depth of the buried object from a position putting a transmitting and receiving antenna on the ground surface, a position of the moved antenna where a reflection time from a buried object is equal and an arbitrary position, and these positional relations and the time required for measuring reflected waves. SOLUTION: A transmitting and receiving antenna 6 is put at a position 3 of the ground surface, and a reflection time t1 till a transmitting electromagnetic wave is reflected on a buried pipe 2 and received is measured. A position, in which the transmitting and receiving antenna 6 is measured along the ground surface during traction, and the reflection time is t1 , is made a position 4, and a distance γbetween the positions 3, 4 is measured. Another reflection t2 is measured at a position 5 at an arbitrary position γ' away from the position 4. The depth (d) of a pipe 2 is measured from the reflection times t1 , t2 and the distance γ, γ'. Here, the pipe 2 is understood to be just below the center between the positions 3, 4, and a buried position is found from the depth d. The buried position can be easily measured in a short time by calculating the depth of the buried object from the positional relations of the positions 3-5 and the reflection times.
