ANTI-FELIN IMMUNOINSUFFICIENCY VIRUS (ANTI-FIV) AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition that is useful for prevention and treatment of felin immunosufficiency virus(FIV) by formulating a specific quinolone carboxylic derivative the composition. SOLUTION: This composition contains a quinolone carboxylic derivative of formula I [X is H, a halogen; Y is H, a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl; Z is carboxy, 5-tetrazolyl; Q is N, formula II (R is H, a halogen); R is H, a 1-4C alkyl; R is 4-(phenyl)piperazin-1-yl] or its salt or ester as an active component. This compound has excellent FIV proliferation-inhibitory action in the cells persistently infected with FIV and gives a therapeutic or preventive agent for FIV infection (FAIDS) having good oral absorption.
