Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust an extendable leg without increasing the weight thereof too much by preventing a lower leg body from rotating relative to an upper leg body, while the circular cross sections of the leg bodies are being maintained. SOLUTION: In the tripod stepladder 1, leg bodies 2, 3 thereof are oppositely disposed one to the other so as to be spaced apart in the left and right directions and connected one to the other by a plurality of step bars 4 (4A-4D) and the top end of an extendable leg 6, which can be moved toward or apart from the bars, is connected to a top end member 5 connected to the top ends of the bodies 2, 3 so as to be rotatable about a horizontal axis. And the leg 6 is formed from an upper leg body 6A made of a pipe material having circular cross section and a lower leg body 6B which is made of a pipe material having circular cross section and can be inserted into the leg body 6A so as to be extended or contracted. Further one protruding strip 15 is provided on the inner surface of the body 6A so as to extend in the axial direction thereof and a recessed groove 21 is provided in the outer surface of the body 6B for engagement with the strip 15 in a relatively slidable relationship, so that by fitting the strip 15 in the groove 21, the body 6B is prevented from rotating relative to the body 6A.
