Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a tie-rod with a middle part of a rack shaft through a boot easily and securely in a rack pinion type steering device having a center take-off shape. SOLUTION: A part of a boot 5 which covers the outside of a window hole 22 formed in a rack housing 2 is constituted by a fixed member 5c made of a material having higher ductility than materials of the other parts, and a pair of fitting holes are formed in this fixed member 5c. A mounting bracket 41 for mounting tie-rods 4, 4 is attached to the boot 5 by fitting fitting projections 42, 42 which are provided and protrude on the mounting bracket 41 into the fitting holes. At this time, positions of the fitting holes are adjusted due to the ductility of the fixed member 5c, the fitting of the fitting projections 42, 42 is facilitated, and a fitted condition after the fitting is securely maintained due to the ductility of the fixed member 5c.
