REFERENCE SYSTEM OF DATA CARTRIDGE TO CADDY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly position a picker in a storage place of a data cartridge in a caddy of data cartridges by equipping a caddy guide reference sleeve. SOLUTION: A reference is given to the caddy to be mounted on a storage rack, and also a reference is given to an introducing part of the cartridge inserted into the caddy by a data cartridge hadling mechanism or the picker by the caddy guide reference sleeve 500. A Z-directional reference for the picker is provided by a cartridge Z-reference tab 462 from the rear part of the caddy guide reference sleeve 500, and the rear side end 466 is tapered to perform smooth transition of the picker in the Z-direction. Then, a Y-directional reference for the picker is provided by a data cartridge Y-reference tab 468 from the rear part of the reference sleeve 500, and similarly the end is tapered to perform smooth transition of the picker. The data cartridge is kept sliding in the Xdirection before abutting against a wall, and the data cartridge is locked in the abutted place.
