TAPE GUIDE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate traveling tension on a ribbon tape under travel on a magnetic head and tape guides and to reduce unsteady of the tape by disposing the magnetic head with its tape sliding surface engaged with the tape and tape guide shafts at a certain zenithal angle to them. SOLUTION: The tape guides 12 and 14 are fitted rotatably via screw fitted holding fasteners 32 and 34 onto a base 22 respectively. Tape guide elements 24 and 26 and then 28 and 30 are cylindrical flange members. The magnetic head 15 is disposed between tape contact surfaces 40 and 42, and the tape sliding surface 18 is formed at a certain zenithal angle 36 to the tape contact surfaces 40 and 42. By inclining the magnetic head 16 to a releasing surface of the tape on the inner side from the tape contact surfaces 40 and 42, bias force to the tape guides 12 and 14 is generated. The tape is moved in the direction of releasing from the tape guides 12 and 14, and is bias engaged with the lower tape guide elements 26 and 30.
