Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet of wallpaper capable of reducing the concentration of toxic pollutants contained in an indoor atmosphere by forming a coating film containing an adsorbent of a volatile organic compound on the surface of a substrate sheet. SOLUTION: This sheet of wallpaper has a coating film layer containing a material capable of adsorbing volatile organic compounds on the surface of a substrate sheet. The wallpaper is obtained by preparing a coating material containing an adsorbent capable of adsorbing volatile organic compounds such as aldehydes, aromatic hydrocarbons or chlorine-containing hydrocarbons, e.g. silica gel binding amino groups by covalent bonds and an acrylic, a vinyl acetate-based or an olefinic resin emulsion type water-based adhesive for holding the adsorbent and then coating the surface of a substrate sheet for the wallpaper consisting essentially of wood pulp with the resultant coating material. The resultant wallpaper has adsorptivity for the volatile organic compounds.
