PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal spraying device for a inclined type fire furnace wall tube capable of automating thermal spraying for a inclined type fire furnace wall tube having a helical tube by a simple device and control and capable of effectively executing thermal spraying small in the dispersion of the thickness and quality of coating in a wide region including the upper edge part and lower edge part of the furnace wall and to provide a method therefor. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a traverse device moving a thermal spraying head 11 in the horizontal direction and vertical direction to a vertical fire furnace wall 5 composed of a furnace wall tube in which the axis is made inclined to horizontal and an oscillating device oscillating a thermal spraying gun 11 up and down with a thermal spraying position 6 on the fire furnace wall almost as the center, the thermal spraying gun is oscillated to the up and down plural positions (1) to (6), also, the thermal spraying gun is moved in the horizontal direction and vertical direction at each oscillating position, and metal thermal spraying is executed to the surface of the fire furnace wall.
