Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polycondensate with qualities suitable for its application by conducting the polycondensation of oligomers by changing the kind of polycondensation catalyst depending on the kind of a catalyst compd. or the concn. of a phosphorus compd. contained in a scrap polyester. SOLUTION: An oligomer in the molten state is stirred under heating in a reactor 1, to which a slurry comprising terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol in a molar ratio of (1/1.1)-(1/2.0) is supplied together with a catalyst through a supply pipe 4. On the other hand, a scrap polyester having a content of metal compds. (e.g. Sb2 O3 ) of 10 ppm or lower (in terms of metal atoms) and a content of phosphorus compds. of 20 ppm or lower (in terms of phosphorus) is weighed with a weighing apparatus 6 and then is melted and supplied with an extruder in an amt. of about 30 wt.% of the oligomer. An oligomer formed by the esterification at 220-260 deg.C and having a degree of polymn. of 3-10 is extracted with a pump 9 through an extraction pipe line 8, is filtered with a filter 10, and is sent to the polycondensation step to be reacted in the presence of a GeO2 catalyst, etc., thus giving a polycondensate. |
